Maureen was born in Overton in Hampshire, a picturesque village on the edge of the Hampshire Downs. She studied at Winchester and Cambridge Colleges of Art. On graduating, she worked as an illustrator for Dinosaur Publications, producing illustrations for their range of children's books.

After moving to Ipswich in Suffolk, she began working as a Freelance illustrator, on a wide range of items such as children’s books, games, puzzles, greetings cards and magazines.

She has over the past few years developed an interest in creating artworks using paper, card and discarded materials (her excuse for hoarding things which would usually be thrown out with the rubbish).

Maureen also designs and hand-paints her own range of jewellery under the name - ‘Flights of Fancy’ using animal, bird and flower motifs.
